What is Chi Kung???

Chi Kung is the skilful practice of gathering, circulating, and harmonising one’s life-force energy.
Chi Kung is about feeling the moment as it is, and the power of tuning into your body awareness. By slowing down movement and mind, you will start to perceive subtle meridian flows, and deep reservoirs of energy in the body.
There is a natural self-balancing that happens without thought or action, when you are moved from a place of stillness into the motion of your life force. This happens when you allow yourself to be unfettered by a busy mind, and come back into awareness of the entirety of the moment as it is.

Taking the time meet yourself in this way, reconnects you to the abundance of being in tune with, and part of, nature.

What is This Workshop About???

The Wood Element is part of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) 5 Element Cycle – Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal.

In nature, trees represent the Wood Element – they have their roots in the Earth stabilising the land and soaking up the rains and minerals to nourish their trunk and canopy, while at the same time their leaves absorb the delicate energies of the sun. So trees, just like us, are very much nourished by the Yin and Yang Planetary Energies of Heaven & Earth, as well as ALL the other TCM elements, as we will find out in this workshop.

The Wood Element Chi Kung forms and meditations help create balance in how we relate to the element within ourselves, enabling us to grow, rejuvenate, and heal more quickly, with more vigour. The season associated with the Wood Element is Spring. The health that we gain revitalises our ability to feel inspired and creative.

When our Wood Element is balanced, we have clarity in our mind so we can clearly and easily make decisions. We also have more patience, and find good humour, ease & flexibility in ourselves. Sometimes, with the stresses that life can present, we can feel frustrated, time-poor, or under-resourced. Just by doing some simple Wood Element Chi Kung forms in the morning, we can get back on top of things and rekindle our inner strength, and transform our whole outlook.

The organs & meridians associated with the Wood Element are the liver and gall bladder, which are BIG players in the strength of our immune system, and the level of health of our whole body, as they affect so many other body systems. In TCM, the liver is the controller of the flow of chi/energy. Through the Chi Kung forms, stillness and meditation, the liver gets a chance to detox and function more optimally. This benefits the eyes, ligaments, tendons, muscles, joints, hormonal and PMS issues, as well as improving the production of neurotransmitters… hence the mind becomes clearer, and our whole body feels the benefit.

In this workshop, we will explore specific organ and meridian Chi Kung forms that greatly support health of the liver and gall bladder, thus also support the health of our whole body.

At the end of the workshop we will put together a video of the moves, so you can continue resourcing yourself at home.

Note: There are a series of 10 standalone workshops covering the 5 elements, dragon chi kung, & internal alchemy. Completion of all ten workshops and associated homestudy lead to the qualification of Elemental Chi Kung Teaching Certification. Or each workshop can be enjoyed standalone. see past event details, or go to www.naturalmovment.info for overview of the workshops.

Note: It is best to spend the 4 days deepening into the resourcing space created to fully reconnect to the chi in and around you. However if you are only able to make 3 days that maybe possible, please contact Denise to discuss.

Note: the course is subject to minimum and maximum numbers.
